Shrubland Street Community Primary School

Hello and welcome to Shrubland Street Primary School.

My name is Abigail and I am the chair of the school council.

I believe that our school vision, ‘All Different Learning Together’ best describes Shrubland Street. At school, we have about 29 different languages spoken from 25 different countries. I get along really well with everyone, including the staff. I feel the teachers really do their jobs well and go out of their way to make sure we are safe, comfortable, happy and the best students we could be.

At Shrubland Street, we have a wide range of subjects and an even wider range of activities; from learning about the Mayans in History and studying Roman Numerals in Maths to sewing soft toys in Art and doing Hockey in P.E. I have also enjoyed going on many interactive school trips and residentials. Each teacher’s unique methods have helped me to improve in my learning and the staff team support me to thrive and grow.

When I was standing to be a school councillor, it was really hard to think of changes I could make to the school, as it is already such a nurturing, welcoming place that encourages you to be the best version of who you are.
