Free School Meals and Pupil Premium
All children from Early Years to Year 2 are eligible for a free Universal School Meal provided through government funding.
All children from Year 3 to 6 can purchase a meal from school. However some families are eligible for a Free School Meal. This can be applied for through Warwickshire County Council.
Did you know that just registering your child for Free School Meals means that the school gets extra money?
What you may not know however is that the Government is giving money to schools to help children from lower income families do their very best.
This funding is called a ‘Pupil Premium’. For every child registered Shrubland Street Primary School will receive additional money. With this money we can provide more interventions to accelerate your child’s academic progress as well as interventions to develop self-esteem, self-confidence and social emotional skills. If you are successful, not only will it mean your child will receive a free school meal but we can also help in other areas as well.
We urge all parents from Early Years to Year 6 to apply for Free School meals Funding whether taking a Universal Free School meal or not. A successful application ensures extra funding to support your child across the whole curriculum and not just funding for a school dinner.
Please follow the link on this page to find out more or alternatively contact school and we will be willing to help with any issues or paperwork that needs to be completed.
